BEAUFORD DELANEY

On Monday, May 5th, the Beck Cultural Exchange Center proudly hosted a live auction featuring two original artworks by Beauford Delaney, custom-framed exclusively for the Beck-Met Gala. This auction was a vital part of the evening, emphasizing the importance of art and culture within our community. It provided a unique opportunity to acquire a distinctive piece of history while supporting the ongoing initiatives of the Beck. The bidding concluded with final offers of $18,000 and $6,000, respectively.

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS & PARTNERS

Special thanks to Deshawn Johnson of Frank's Vintage Closet for donating fashion outfits for the models.

A SHOWCASE OF DANDY MODELS ...

over 25 Dandy Fashion Black male models graceD the runway!

This enchanting evening mirrored the iconic Met Gala, a charity affair dating back to 1948. This year, the Met Gala theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," draws inspiration from the thought-provoking book "Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity." We were thrilled to align our Knoxville event with this theme, creating our very own “Beck-Met Gala” at the same time as the New York festivities.
